Jessica Recinos is a San Francisco native, choreographer, and artivist who is active in bringing change to her community through movement. She is the founder of Rising Rhythm, a Bay Area dance collective connecting a diverse group of creators to resist and express through storytelling and performance using dance, music, and visual art. She has trained with some of the Bay’s most respected street dancers such as Allan Frias of Mind Over Matter, Rashad "Soul Nubian" Pridgen and Jocquese Whitfield who have guided her to become the confident, fearless woman she is today. She is also a member of the vogue house, House of Prolific West Coast Chapter. Jessica uses art as a way to bring change to her community through drumming for protests and her involvement with various non profit organizations such as Dance Mission Theater Youth Program, Loco Bloco and Handful Players that support the youth's healthy transition into adulthood.
